I started travelling abroad through summer camps and exchange programs when I was 11 (well, it was a big deal in 90s Turkey!), and could not stop until yet. This passion for travelling formed my individual drive for a better world to be serving continuously to the very core human need which is witnessing the proofs of interconnectedness through getting to know other cultures. That is, getting united, realizing being remote pieces in the puzzle of the Whole. The initial phases of this drive gave me direction to choosing to learn a foreign language as a pre-teen, and that in turn gave me wings to fly across many horizons and communicate with other cultures at every opportunity.
Throughout my student and early professional years, I found many chances to travel through international youth projects, summer camps, and working in the tourism sector. Eventually, I wanted to give away wings to others too, and became an ESL Teacher at a Private School Chain in 2011. Sharing the wings life gave me had become my vision in my personal and professional life by then. So, as soon as I started teaching, I also started initiating and taking part in international projects and organizing summer camps abroad in order to create the need for internationalization for my colleagues and students through speaking English. We took part in many multi-year European Union Projects, attended numerous international events, and got world degrees at a worldwide Science and Arts project in the US, all of which produced countless continuous internationalization opportunities with a wave effect over the years.
I ended up being the Director of Foreign Languages and Projects of this school, which then consisted of 5 campuses with more than 5000 students. After 7 years in this institution, I became a teacher workshop facilitator travelling even more to extend the span of my wings, and to exchange experiences.
My passion for internationalization and appetite for learning brought me to Canada in 2018 pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education at OISE, University of Toronto. As a newcomer mum and an avid education professional, my international student and parenting experience in Canada can be defined as remarkable in so many aspects.
As can be gleaned from my professional story, here I am now to help individuals spread wings beyond borders via World Education Body. Let’s exchange experiences, embrace differences, and discover what the world has to offer us here in Canada, a place that embodies one of the most immodest diversity* of cultures.
So, I am a learner, educator, reformer, nature and literature lover, adventurer, and a very proud mother. And I am looking forward to getting to know you, and guide you through your journey.
